This experience is as much about culture as it is about food.
Step into the private barbecue grill of a local parrillero’s home and learn to cook Asado (Argentine barbecue).
We will show you how to prepare this traditional delicacy from scratch. We will start by walking to the neighbourhood butcher to choose the daily available beef. Then we will visit our home grill and turn on the fire together. We’ll cook the different types of beef we’ve chosen and prepare the side dishes.
Then you will be guided through preparing the classic sauces that no Argentine barbecue could be complete without: chimichurri and criolla sauce.
After this, we will enjoy our own homemade food, a classic asado feast.
No prior cooking knowledge is needed to attend this class.
Grilled provoleta cheese, chorizo sausage and assorted cuts of local beef (we’ll choose these together at the butcher shop).
Potatoes “al plomo” (charcoal grilled) and grilled veggies.
Argentine crepes with dulce de leche caramel (panqueques).
Bottled water and soft drinks.
Courtesy glass of Malbec wine.
The traditional “Fernandito” drink (Fernet with Coke).
I’ve been doing asado since my childhood, having learnt from my uncle Alfredo, who would prepare big asados and invite our whole family to his house. In order to learn as much as possible from my uncle, I was always next to him by the grill, taking advantage of every moment so that I can continue his asado legacy.
I want to transmit this passion to the whole world; asado is so much more than beef, it’s a tradition that speaks about Argentine culture.
I have experience working as an asador in a boutique hotel located in Palermo, Buenos Aires.
